Welcome to DataSec Chronicles!
By day, I query data. By night, I'm learning to defend it.
My job is asking questions of data: How many? How often? What pattern? I live in SQL, pandas, and dashboards. I can spot an outlier in a million rows.
Then I started asking a harder question: What if someone is trying to take this data?
That question pulled me into cybersecurity — threat hunting, cloud defense, and detection engineering. At first, it felt like a different universe. But quickly, I realized: threat hunting is just querying with higher stakes. Log analysis is just messy data you have to clean first. Pattern recognition is pattern recognition, whether it's healthcare claims or anomalies in a system log.
DataSec Chronicles is my honest, out-loud journal of this pivot. I'm not an expert (yet). I'm an analyst becoming a defender — documenting every query, every mistake, and every small win.
If you're coming from data or just curious how an analyst thinks about defense, you're in the right place. Let's learn this together.
